Festival Season

Winters in Canada are cold and grey. The night sets in at about 4:30 in the afternoon and more often than not, you're waking up to a snow storm. There is an upside to the winter however, and its slowly starting to peak its head. Festival season is being announced!

Mountain Jam will be taking place from May 29-31 this year with an incredible initial lineup:
ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND,GOV'T MULE, MICHAEL FRANTI & SPEARHEAD, RAY LAMONTAGNE, COHEED & CAMBRIA, THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND, THE HOLD STEADY, RICHIE HAVENS, JACKIE GREENE, GIRL TALK, TEA LEAF GREEN, PORTER BATISTE STOLTZ, RAILROAD EARTH , BRETT DENNEN, THE LEE BOYS, U-MELT, MACPODZ,THE BREW

Although the lineup isn't very diverse, it is most certainly solid.

The 10,000 Lakes Festival will be taking place from July 22-25 and the headliners are huge. Dave Matthews Band, Wilco and Widespread Panic will be the forefront of the festival. The rest of the lineup so far is:Umphrey's McGee, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Railroad Earth,Tea Leaf Green (2 nights), Junior Brown, WookieFoot
Trampled By Turtles, Cloud Cult, Everyone Orchestra, Kathleen Edwards, Pretty Lights
BoomBox, William Elliott Whitmore, My Dear Disco, Kinetix, The Macpodz, The Ragbirds
Enchanted Ape

I know that everyone (including myself) are eagerly awaiting the Bonnaroo and Rothbury lineups which I assume will be announced soon. Let it be known that Phish has added another date to their tour. The boys will be playing Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenessee on June 10. Suspiciously close to Bonnaroo no? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
